Hierarchal design

Objects are self-hierarchical.

Designed objects are made up of many small relating features that are inherently hierarchical.

Well-designed object hierarchies intuitively lead users through the experience of an object.  These objects are typically archetypal in nature, guiding attention, prompting interaction, and indicating function—they just ‘feel right’ and epitomise intuitive design.
